It is crystal clear to anyone who knows anything about Dr. Mark Dekutoski that he loved to both teach and learn. He has a lot of great education himself, starting with the Bachelor of Arts Degree he earned from Albion University in 1982 and continuing on to the Wayne State University School of Medicine, which is how he officially became Dr. Mark Dekutoski, MD in 1986. He then completed an internship in general surgery and a residency in orthopedic surgery, both from Wayne State and he even became a John H. Moe Clinical Spine Fellow at the Twin Cities Scoliosis Spine Center from the University of Minnesota more than 20 years ago.
Since then, his skills in medical research and writing has few peers. In addition to publishing and reviewing for a large number of surgery-related medical journals, he served as an editor for several publications, including a supplement for Spine, one of the most prestigious orthopedic journals anywhere. He also served as associate editor for the Journal of Spine Disorders and he was on the editorial board for the Journal of Current Surgery for a time. Everything Dr. Mark Dekutoski has done, both as a surgeon and as a researcher, has served to make his profession better.
